Early this year, I saw the trailer for this movie at Quicktime's website and was like, "OMFG!". It's strange how these movies get released. The first one, Night Watch (Nochnoy dozor), I saw the trailer for a couple of years ago, again on Quicktime's website. Thought, "Okay, cool. Can't wait to see it in the theater". Never heard anything. Then one day while walking around Sam's Club last year, it was right there on the DVD shelf. And it was just one copy. So I got it, great movie.

So I did the same for the second. Waited for the theatrical release. Then recently, saw it at Blockbuster! *sigh*

So I rented it. Watched it. Overall opinion: Decent Movie. Visually, it is comparable to the original. The story continues from where the first one left off but a couple of years later. The battle between good and evil beginning to brew. The war against the light and the dark.

Will not give out parts of the movie since this is an actual continuation from the first, so anything said is spoiling the movie if you haven't seen Night Watch.

I know the story does bounce around from character to character (again, like the first one) so one has to concentrate when watching it. The ending was predictable. It was one of the outcomes that I was thinking about while watching the movie but it was still worth watching.

This review is probably not too helpful, so it's more of a recommendation. The films are based off of books written by Sergei Lukyanenko. I haven't read the books but based on critics and other people that have read and seen the movies, the movies are not the same as the books with the story itself but the concept, and general characters are the same.

On a side note, what's the deal with my cable company. Every time 'Night Watch' is on TV, the guide shows that it is the russian movie but when I click to watch it, it's the one with Ewan McGregor. This has happened 3 times this year so far.
